SUSHI RESTAURANT REI

This is sushi restaurant REI, MUKU's only overseas project using domestic wood, part one.

Struck by the owner's strong determination and desire to open a real sushi restaurant in Vietnam and the thought put into the restaurant, MUKU supplied domestic hinoki wood from various places and used its foreign network to complete manufacture of building materials for sushi restaurant REI in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city. This was not simply a copy-and-paste of the high-grade sushi restaurants in Japan, but a realization of a fine-quality space never before experienced by the people of the world, designed by an up-and-coming architect active in Vietnam, Joe Chikamori. At REI, the dignified appearance and aroma of the hinoki wood enhance the experience of savoring genuine sushi made with fresh ingredients delivered directly each day from Tsukiji Market, drawing in not only the Vietnamese people, but those who visit from all over the world.
